I wasn't able to find any clear answers to my problem after searching the archives, so here it goes.
When I print graphics generated by a notebook to a printer, some of the symbols are missing, and in place of them are small empty rectangular boxes (I am missing minus signs, equal signs, and the greek symbol sigma).
I tried changing options (to no avail) under the menu bar ''Cell/DefaultInputFormatType'' to ''InputForm'', and ''Cell/DefaultOutputFormatType'' to ''OutputForm'', as another posted message suggested. Also, I viewed the Type 1 fonts under ''Settings/Control Panel'' using the Windows 95 start icon, and the Mathematica fonts (font files Math1 through Math5) look just fine.
I am using a PC with Windows 95, and the printer is an HP Laser Jet 4000 TN. If you have any advice, I would love to hear it. Thanks.
