[Continuation of http://forums.wolfram.com/student-support/topics/26522 thread - Forum Moderator]
I dont think I explained it well enough the first time. let me go into detail further.
{{0,0,"aaa"},{1,1,"aaa"},{2,2,"bbb"},{3,3,"bbb"},{4,4,"bbb"},{5,5,"ccc"},{6,6,"ddd"},{7,7,"ddd"},{8,8,"ddd"},{9,9,"ddd"}}
In this list I get many similar sublists. in the third position of each sublist, I get similar letters. I want to display the first and last sublist where the letters begin and end. for example, just for the last part of this list, the output would be {{6,6,"ddd"},{9,9,"ddd"}} because {6,6,"ddd"} and {9,9,"ddd"} are the first and last of the ddd in the third position. this is exactly what i want.
below: this would be the output would be for the entire list:
Notice, the {5,5,"ccc"} is duplicated in the output. this is because {5,5,"ccc"} is the first and the last of the ccc
{{0,0,"aaa"},{1,1,"aaa"}},{{2,2,"bbb"},{4,4,"bbb"}},{{5,5,"ccc"},{5,5,"ccc"}},{{6,6,"ddd"},{9,9,"ddd"}}
thanks in advance
