Following "Add Text to a Graphic" <http://reference.wolfram.com/mathematica/howto/AddTextToAGraphic.html>, I have not trouble right-clicking a graphic and choosing "Save Graphic As..." when it has the orange frame and has not yet been edited. But once I edit the graphic I get a thick gray frame and it never goes away. In this form, a right-click never gives me the "Save Graphic As..." option. What gives? Nothing in the online help documents seems to speak to this issue.
Background: my ultimate objective is to plot something, edit the plot, and save the plot as a .pdf to be used in another document.
