I'm stuck with solving a complicated function since a couple of days now. I figured I have to make it a multiline function since mathematica had problems solving for some 'border cases'. So I corrected it and came to the function in the attachement. However, still I have problems. I want to maximize the second line of this equation for the conditions given there. However, mathematica does not manage to set the derivative equal to zero and solve for t - but that's what I need. I think I made some mistake when setting up the conditions?? Does someone know how to solve that problem? I'd be happy about any hint!
