Thank you for your reply. Your example works fine but my own does not. I'm now convinced the problem is not in the PlotLegend option because while removing it does produce an image so does for example changing the parameter values. I don't really get where the problem is. I've tried holding down SHIFT as you suggested with no improvement. Notebook attatched.
