The url you pointed to covers a lot of different topics. If you have a C code for doing something and you want to modify it for use with Mathematica via MathLink, go to
http://reference.wolfram.com/mathematica/tutorial/MathLinkAndExternalProgramCommunicationOverview.html
and work your way down each section.
It might not be hard to connect your C program, but the details must be done right.
