Hi,
I have been a long user of MATLAB and have just tried Mathematica. Immediately I found that Mathematica has the fundamental advantage of being based on symbolic algebra. In MATLAB, every values are computed numerics, whereas with Mathematica the numerical result can be displayed at last with N[] command.
I just would like to know with great advantage of symbolic algebra which MATLAB lacks, how could MATLAB really have survived in the competition with Mathematica?
