Hi,
I am a student and I have downloaded a trial of mathematica. I have never used it before, however, I have used the online integrator which is fantastic.
I have come across the Mathieu equation in my chemistry book regarding quadrupole mass spectrometer. I want to be able to solve the equation and plot the stability diagram (those boundary curves which relate to stable/unstable solutions)?
The equation in question can be seen here:

I have had a look at the documentation and have had a play but have no idea of where to begin. Can someone please show me how to get started solving and plotting the stab diagram?
thanks in advance,
