Thanks Forum Moderator for your quick reply.
I didn't know that subscripted variables were treated so much differently than non-subscripted variables.
I tried Clear["Global`*"]. That didn't work.
However, quitting the Kernel did the trick.
Is there a command that will invoke quitting the kernel. This would be more convenient than clicking Evaluation-->Quit Kernel.
Thanks for the attachment on subscripted variables.
