Toen,

Thanks for the reply, I'm still trying to grasp some of the logic behind Mathematica functions. (I know it's there, and once I get it, everything will be crystal clear, but right now I definitely have a shotgun approach to most stuff…) Anyway, it turns out that my initial approach was wrong, and that I actually need to create a series of gaussian functions centered at each discreet data point, and then sum up the series of gaussians for each energy value… I'm narrowing in on what I need to do on that front now.

Thanks again for the advice though, it's helpful to see how others think about these problems!
