 Author Comment/Response Michael Woodhouse 06/11/12 08:14am Below is an example of an output from a FourierTransform[]. It is technically a correct answer but there is no reason that I can see for it not to cancel the 10^330 's on the top and bottom. Personally I prefer not to have googols in my equations unless absolutely necessary :) (My current record is 10^2397) So far I've tried every command I can think of to make it cancel, why does Mathematica do this? and is there a command I can use to cancel out the factors? Thanks, Michael ******** ((1.236526787454866*10^331 + 4.76827432449167*10^330 I) - (1.218912172298925*10^331 + 8.72263875958741*10^330 I) w^2 - (2.992777793489833*10^331 + 2.465706837003483*10^331 I) w^4 + (5.896523620549841*10^331 + 7.403818169991002*10^331 I) w^6 - (3.967456426910109*10^331 + 7.338720044590290*10^331 I) w^8 + (1.184127065079906*10^331 + 3.462975003423246*10^331 I) w^10 - (1.293736086726766*10^330 + 7.62696059556076*10^330 I) w^12 - (1.08609173263772*10^328 - 5.01857370876776*10^329 I) w^14 - (7.*10^313 - 3.60827818152051*10^328 I) w^16)/((1.373742108320661*10^334 + 2.17409827229844*10^333 I) - (1.017746809377246*10^335 + 3.822415070535674*10^334 I) w^2 + (3.014995839294773*10^335 + 1.758169821622828*10^335 I) w^4 - (4.834352514145133*10^335 + 3.909019313985298*10^335 I) w^6 + (4.692795205898174*10^335 + 5.049675397626819*10^335 I) w^8 - (2.883484711665431*10^335 + 4.093850749061748*10^335 I) w^10 + (1.127201669845701*10^335 + 2.145421811022780*10^335 I) w^12 - (2.712582923415635*10^334 + 7.248047166634727*10^334 I) w^14 + (3.65500947379435*10^333 + 1.520191318939935*10^334 I) w^16 - (2.103913386163324*10^332 + 1.794356992039678*10^333 I) w^18 + 9.06859218173845*10^331 I w^20) ******** URL: ,
