I don't seem to have the patience to wait for Sum[...{n,1,50}], but with only 5 or even 10 it appears that Simplify is able to reduce the size of the resulting expression at least several fold.
It is difficult to offer any other suggestions when we don't have any of your data or the code you are using.
If you could provide a notebook with data and code that would sum over only 5 or 10 then someone might be able observe the behavior and offer some advice.
