How about something like

y[a,b,c]:= If[ValueQ[y[a,b,c]],y[a,b,c],y[a,b,c] = y./ NDSolve[{eqn[a,b,c], y[0]==init[a,b,c], y'[0]==dinit[a,b,c],y,{r,2,10000}][[1]]];

or is there a better way?
