In[1]:= Series[(1+x)^-1,{x,0,3}]

Out[1]= 1-x+x^2-x^3+O[x]^4

In[2]:= Series[(1+x)^(3/2),{x,0,3}]

Out[2]= 1+3 x/2+3 x^2/8-x^3/16+O[x]^4

In[3]:= Series[(1+x)^1.5,{x,0,3}]

Out[3]= 1+1.5 x+0.375 x^2-0.0625 x^3+O[x]^4
