I am also having difficulties with equations containing Sin y I also used the format from the web site (http://support.wolfram.com/Graphics/TwoD/DirectionField.html) replacing the web equation with eqn=y'[x]==-x^2+Sin[y[x]]; The result after entering ysol[x_]=y[x]/.First[sol]; the system comes back with ReplaceAll::Reps:{y'[x]==-x^2+Sin[y[x]]} is neither a list of replacement rules nor a valid dispatch table, and so can not be used for replacing
