When in plain text mode, implementing formats such as derivatives, subscripts or super scripts causes Mathematica to enter this function editor mode. In this mode, mathematica italicizes functions, and adds its own special format rules not present in the normal text mode. When editing this text, mathematica always highlights it in yellow.
Is there a way to enter this mode without first invoking special formating such as the ones listed above? I'm wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut.
Thank you!
