If you do, say,
18.2 >> file
`file' will contain 18.19999999999999 (because .2 can't be encoded with a finite string of binary values, but that's not the problem). How can you make Mathematica export text, not the numerical value of the symbol you export, that is, how can I make `file' contain 18.2?
