I suddenly cannot get Mathematica to start again, and when I run it I get the following error:

xset: bad font path element (#37), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Value in failed request: 0x25
Serial number of failed request: 7
Current serial number in output stream: 8

By the way, this is the Linux version I'm trying to use. I've run Mathematica on Linux for a couple of years now, and this hasn't happened before! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
