It looks as if the files are there. Both of your attempts to load packages with the full path name were successful. The ''shadow'' messages occur because the Graphics`Common` and Graphics` package were loaded separately and the definitions end up being made twice where if things were working normally the Grphics` package would cause the Common` to load at the same time which prevent the double defining.
There is information on shadowing in the Help Browser and in the Support FAQ's at http://support.wolfram.com.

I recall hearing of some problems with Mathematica occuring on Macintosh machines that are related to, of all things, the hard drive name. I don't recall if the issue is specific words, characters, use of spaces or what. Try renaming your hard drive to something generic, like ''Macintosh''. You likely then have to edit some path initialization settings in your Mathematica installation. The least painful way to do that is to reinstall Mathematica whereupon the setting should be made automatically.
