When I export a graphic figure from a Mathematica 4.0.1 notebook to the PDF format and try to read the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader I get an error dialog in Acrobat stating:
Unable to find or create the font 'Math1'. Some characters may not display or print correctly.
And I notice that a text annotation that should have the Greek letter theta is missing.
I also tried exporting the figure as an EPS file and using the epstopdf perl script that can be found on tug.org. This allowed me to see the the characters in Adobe Acrobat properly, however, when the page is printed to a Postscript printer, the Math1 characters are not printed.
What's the best way to get PDF output from Mathematica?
