How do u do get the gradient of a vector field?

I tried using Divergence and Gradient of a vector field but it doesn't seem to work.

I should get some kind of scalar result for divergence.

given a function in terms of x and y how would you get the gradient vector and divergence.

can someone show me an example.

second question, anyone know how to have it shown symbolically? Like gradient of F is
