I have a problem to solve the 2nd order differential equation problem involving several boundary conditions in a inhomogeneous medium.

Actually, this is a trial to solve the one dimensional Helmholtz equation.

I tried, but sometimes Mathematica works and sometimes not. I can't figure out the reason.
Also, I don't know this is the right approach to solve this kind of problem

I attached the note. Does anybody help me?
