I am no longer able to use the palettes. Specially the basic input. If I try to use whatever button (square root or fraction) I get a bunch of back slashes and squares which are of no use. and if I happen to start a new cell, I will get the right figure, only I am not able to edit it because its not highlited, so I can not use it.
before it used to work fine, now I do not know what happend.
any help would be greatly appreciated
