I am trying to check whether a function is positive, given that some of its variables fulfill certain inequalities. For example,

is 5 * x + 2 > 0, given that x > 0?

"Positive[5x + 2]" seems to be the function that does this, but I haven't found a way to input the assumption "x>0."

"x = 3; Positive[2 + 5 x]" returns "true"; but "x > 0; Positive[2 + 5 x]" only returns "Positive[2 + 5 x]."

I would greatly appreciate any help with this!
Thanks,
Gernot
