How can I solve "remainder-equations", I donīt know the right word - in german itīs "Differenzengleichung", with mathematica?

For example: a_n - 2a_(n-1) - 3a_(n-2)=4n - 2^n

I donīt know how to input!
With Solve[] it doesnīt function.
