I'm trying to connect Mathematica and Maya (3D animation package). Just wondering if this strategy would work: create a Maya plug-in that uses the Mathlink libray, and when I invoke the plugin from within Maya, use the MLMain (argv, argc) and so on from the sample code to initialize the MathLink connection, as though the plug-in were running in a shell...

The idea (for now) is to create a connection where Maya can send a command to Mathematica to create a geometric object and get the geometry back so that Mathematica can display it.

Is this feasable?

Thanks in advance.
