To understand the nature of my question: I'm an absolute mathematica newbie. I want to construct G(2^3) ie. the field extension of (G(2),+.*)=({0,1},+,*) using the irreduzible polynomial p=x^3+x+1. The buildin function PolynomialMod obviosly works on the field of complex numbers.. What is the way to change fields in mathematica ? (Well this turns out to be a very general question... sorry for being not concrete).
