Consider Integrate[ 1/(a x^2 + b x + c), x ] The principal value of the result depends on whether b^2 is greater or less than 4ac. Mathematica seems to assume that 4ac > b^2. Is there a way to tell Mathematica that b^2 < 4ac. Thanks, Jeff Evenson evenson at tammy.harvard.edu
