There is now available a set of shareware TrueType fonts for the
Macintosh that mimic math mode in TeX. One of the fonts is an
alternative to the standard (ugly) Symbol font. These are really handy
for editting or adding labels to Mathematica graphics for easy inclusion
into a TeX/LaTeX document. These "Faux TeX" fonts are available in the
TeX folder of the Info-Mac archive at Stanford
(sumex-aim.stanford.edu/info-mac) and also on AOL (keyword: DWP). The
shareware cost is only $10. Please pay it! Literally hundreds of hours
of work went into this project.

I hope to produce a Windows version of these fonts in the near future.
