   If you want to get some work done quickly, you could always use the
front-end of Mathematica 2.2 with the new version 3.0 kernel. This way,
you wouldn't have to figure out the formatting issues until better
documentation becomes available (??) or you have the time to solve the
puzzle, and, at the same time, take advantage of the improved capabilities
of the new kernel.
   Another option maight be to turn off some conversion options (have you
tried not to convert input cells?).
