Hello all, I've installed Mathematica 3.0 on our machines under HP/UX 10.20. Mathematica is running remotely on a PC (MS-Windows 3.11) using a X-server (pcxware). As described in mathematicas System Administrators Guide I transferred the fonts included with Mathematica to the X-servers local directories. Only the fonts from /usr/local/mathematica/SystemFiles/Fonts/X are recognized from the X-server runnning on the PC (not Type1). If Mathematica is invoked remotely it starts up with the following message: The stretchable character 0x5f in the Math1Mono font (size 12) has a repeating piece (0x8f) that is zero size. Q: What does this message mean ? Q: How to correct our Mathematica Installation to let this message disappear ? The fonts in the directory /usr/local/mathematica/SystemFiles/Fonts/Type1 are not accepted: Neither from the PC-Xserver nor from the workstation X-server (I tried to add this directory to the fontpath via xset fp+, but is always denied from the workstation X-server with "bad font path...". Also shortening the fontpath doesn't change anything although the Type directory contains an fonts.dir file. Q: How to include the type1-mathematica-fonts to the list of fonts known by the workstation X-server ? Another question: Q: Some AltGr combinations of our PC-Keyboards don't seem to work , esp. those to produce: @, |, {}, [] The same Alt Gr combination work if typed from our workstation keyboard. Q: How to correct this ? Questions, questions, questions... I do hope there are some answers? Thank you in advance Oliver Cossalter at ABB-CH E-Mail: oliver.cossalter at chhos.mail.abb.com
