The problem also occurs with Mathematica 3.01 ($VersionNumber = 3,
$ReleaseNumber=1) on a Power Macintosh, System 8.1.

I've not been extremely impressed with Wolfram's implementation of
special-symbols.  But this is a minor glitch.
