Wolfram has not yet done extensive testing of Mathematica under Windows
2000 beta 3 (we're just beginning to do this), but I can assure you
that it does launch and do calculations on the 2000 systems I've seen.

Wolfram does not support running Mathematica under beta 3 (keep in mind
that this *is* a beta version of an operating system), although we are
interested in hearing about any problems users running beta 3 have.
But, even if it runs flawlessly under beta 3, there is no guarantee it
will run as well on the final version. For example, this happened in
Windows 98 where MS introduced a new feature between the last beta and
ship which caused instabilities in copies of Mathematica shipping at
the time.

Should any serious problems arise in running the latest version of
Mathematica on the final release of Windows 2000, we will address the
problems as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

John Fultz
