Hi Tom, I had the same problems myself when I stated using eXceed on my PC to run mathematica on a remote Unix machine. After quite a bit of fiddling about, I managed to solve the problem and now Mathematica looks fine with eXceed. Firstly, download the PCF font files from http://www.wolfram.com There's also quite a bit of useful advice there in the Support area. The PCF fonts have to be installed into the eXceed system. That procedure is explained in the eXceed help files. Lastly, you need to make sure that these fonts are listed in the correct order in the eXceed database. Otherwise, for example, eXceed will use fixed size fonts instead of TrueType fonts---this happens if the TT font is lower in the database list than the fixed size font: eXceed just used the first one it finds and if it's a fixed size font it will just scale it to the desired size, possibly with horrible consequences! Good luck! Brett Patterson Tom Melluish wrote: > I have a similar problem to Ghulam. I use Mathematica on a DEC Unix system > and when I log in on an XTerm I have no problems.
