Hi, when I let Mathematica do a longer computation under WiNT 4.0 the
system has a very long reaction time when I try to open a file with a other
program via the explorer. This does not happen, when I open the application
directly and load the file via the file open menu.

Other programs hang completely. For example try to install the speed disk
program from Symantec for WinNT (you can get it from the web as a 30 days
trial version for free -> http://www.symantec.com/sdnt/sdnt50trial.html),
nothing will happen until you stop the computation by Mathematica. This
also happens with other programs, but here it can be tried out with - I hope
so - love free program.

Regards, Peter Klamser
