Phil-

Don't know if you can auto-evaluate on opening, but if you convert all of
the input cells to initialization cells (Cells -> Cell Properties ->
Initialization Cell) and also change the Option Inspector to Notebook
Options -> Evaluation Options -> InitializationCellEvaluation -> True, Mathematica 
will send up a dialogue box when you open the notebook asking if you want
to evaluate the Initialization cells, then click yes....

Is there a way to have a Mathematica notebook automatically
recalculate every time I open it?
