Does it exist in mathematica function for calculating it directly ? I know
that it sure can be done in a few simplier steps, but directly for any
operator in inf-dimensional Hilbert space ?

e.g. for the operator A of form:

Aw(x)=d^2w(x1,x1)/dx1^2+d^2w(x1,x1)/dx1^2,

defined in rectangle with sides a,b with null border conditions Dirichlet
type the eigenfunctions are expressed by the following formula :

f(x1,x2)=Csin(pi*i*x1/a)*sin(pi*j*x2/b)

If not, how to do it instead of ?
