It is considered that the first stored computer program was run on June 21,
1948 on the Manchester Mark 1 computer. See this web site for more
information...

Mathematica 1.0 was introduced on June 23, 1988, (for the Macintosh). That
is 40 years and 2 days after the first stored program was run in 1948. Was
the Mathematica introduction in any accordance with the 40 year anniversary
of the first program to be run, or is it just coincidence?
