Mathematica 4.2 and Mac OS 10.4.4 font problems - attached files (1/1)

When I do the following (see attached notebook file):
gr = Plot[Cos[x], {x, -2\[Pi], 2\[Pi]}, Ticks -> {{-2\[Pi],
-3\[Pi]/2, -\[Pi], -\[Pi]/2, 0, \[Pi]/2, \[Pi], 3\[Pi]/2,
2\[Pi]}, Automatic}];
Display["myfile.eps", gr, "eps"]
then the resulting eps file does not convert properly to pdf when I
double click it. (See attached files - contact the author to
get the files - attachments are not permitted - moderator)
Also when I open the pdf file in AdobeReader 7.0.5 it says that it
cannot find the font Mathematica1Mono although this font shows up in the
Font Book application
Finally in the Font Book application almost all my Mathematica fonts
show as duplicates and Edit->ResolveDuplicates does not fix that problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me or cc me in any
