Jean-Marc I seems to me that as the package is encoded there is no problem with making it available for public download. In fact I think Springer, the publisher of this book, often makes software included on CDs attached to books that it publishes publicly available on its web site (or at least it use to do so). Besides, as I wrote in my post, the package is not really useable without the book itself. As Nabeel has made clear to me, he has actually borrowed the book form a library but the library staff could not find the attached CD. In this situation I do not think there is any copyright issue involved.
