I have exactly the same problem, the mathematica crash with ANY
Graphics3D objects, and Manipulate function.
which has puzzled me for month. I didn't solve it .

In[1]:= $Version

Out[1]= "6.0 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) (April 20, 2007)"

the computer is run on AMD athlonx2 64 bit , operating system is
windows xp home edition 2002 sp2. the operating system is 32
bit ,does it matter?

I try on some old system , old hardware,like AGP video card , an
notebook computer with only 8M video memories. they run mathematica 6
well, maybe slow but rendered the 3D graphics.

why some newly buyed machine can perform the 3D. waitting for an answer
