Does Mathematica have a means to look up national holidays in the US,
UK, and/or Japan?

If not can anyone suggest an approach to creating and accessing such
calendar information?

Perhaps something even more general such a giving each date a set of
boolean attributes such as - Holiday, Weekend, Business day,
EndofMonth, EndofQuarter. That seems kind of brute force. Any ideas?

Could one extend the functionality of the Calendar package to set up
such calendars, they would prove useful in lots of business dealings
such a identifying when one can or can't do something in different
countries.
