There is a free App called NTRconnect for the iPhone. With it you can connect remotely to your desktop at home or work running Mathematica with all the power of the desktop. The computer screen is duplicated on the iPhone, and you can do computations, plot graphs, use packages, ... as you wish. My guess is that this will work on the iPad too.
