David Reiss's Mathematica application "WorkLife FrameWork" might help you accomplish at least some of what you want to do. Take a look at: http://www.scientificarts.com/worklife/ (It says there it's compatible with vefsions 5, 6, 7 but I have it running right now on a Mac under OS X 10.6.8 with Mathematica 8.0.1.) David often reads this group, so he can certainly provide a more definitive answer.
