Any ideas on how to fix the > problem, or at least get rid of the messages? This sounds very familiar. I suspect some part of the installation software assumes the X libraries are in their default positions despite the installation software prompting for them. Looking back through my notes I find... fix: deleted ~/.math22prefs.mb 24/8/94. fix: linked /usr/libs/X11 -> /apps/X11/lib/X11 Sun patch 100444 fix: moved to xwindows. The last line was because I was running OpenWindows instead of X-windows. I had some strange problems with saving files on OpenWindows which we never got to the bottom of. Going to real X-windows helped. Putting in the link to make the X libraries appear in their normal positions, and presto, you have your KeySymxxxx again. The Sun patch will probably be there on your current bersion of software. I'm not sure where the .math22perfs.mb file came from in the first place but if you get rid of it, a fresh one will appear. Hope you get an intelligent reply from someone who knows what they're up to instead of just banging it 'till it works. -- Richard Kirk 01483-448869 (phone) 01483-448845 (fax) Canon Research Europe Ltd, rak at canon.co.uk
