Wolfram Research is now shipping a student version of Mathematica 
for the Linux operating system on PCs. Mathematica for Students, 
priced at $109 in the US, is intended for full-time students only 
and includes full documentation as well as Stephen Wolfram's 
Mathematica: The Student Book, a practical guide to Mathematica, 
designed specifically for students.

Current, full-time students can purchase Mathematica for Students 
at local campus bookstores, computer centers, or directly through 
Wolfram Research. Student identification is required.  Technical 
support on the student version is available exclusively via email 
at student-support at wri.com.
