Can't interrupt the current evaluation

I have just upgraded from the Mathematica v2.2.1 to v2.2.3 for my Windows95 and
discovered that the "Interrupt" function doesn't work anymore. The Front-end 
displays a message "Interrupt the current evaluation" but  nothing happens.

Please help!!
