hi all,
I am having troubles with my mma student version. Every so often,
it determines that my password has expired and forces me to get a new
one from Wolfram. I now have a nice little stack of mma license
certificates sitting on my desk, and it looks like the stack will keep
growing - tonite I tried to start up mma and it did it to me again.
The last time I tried to use mma was a month ago, and I had the same
problems then as well. Can somebody tell me what is happening here?
I cringe in fear of the nite when I really need to get some work done
for the next day and I encounter this problem. Does anybody know how
the math kernel decides when to get a new password? Does it use
c:\windows\siteinit.m?

my setup is:
	486/66 52 Mb memory
Windows NT 3.51 service pack 1
mma is installed on drive d:\win32app\wnmath22; d: is an
		NTFS partition.
NOTHING in the mma installation dir has been compressed

the last thing I did to the mma directory was I edited sysinit.m.
I restored the version of sysinit.m before the changes, but that did
not help either.

Wolfram says that mma decides it needs a new password when it
determines that the hardware has "changed". I have not changed my
hardware at all, but I might have installed some new programs on the
d: drive recently. Could this have done the damage?

I would really, greatly appreciate any assistance, suggestions that
you can provide.

						Thanks
						Vince
