Dear Edvin,
I purchased the student version, too, but received it together with the
regular "Mathematica book" by St. Wolfram (Addison-Wesely, ask for the
newest) - which might have been a service of my computer store -, which seems
to me to be enough for completely understanding to translate textbook algebra
into Mathematica notation (if I understood you right). Further books I
contact concern more specific topics and do not help you to learn the basics.
If you have a concrete problem, just ask!
Good luck, Alexander Pokorny
