3.0 Installation Problem

I'm installing Mathematica3.0 on a SunOS (SPARC) platform and am having 
problems with the front end fonts. Seems SunOS won't add the Type1 and X
fonts to the fontpath. xset fp just ignores the fonts and gives no error.
Anyone have 3.0 installed on SunOS?
